On August 8, the local court sentenced Yang Xuesong to tears in court and pleaded guilty.
According to police reports, 54-year-old Yang Xuesong had raped her three times in his office on the victim's 17th birthday and the following week. Another boy who has graduated also has had sexual intercourse with Yang Xuesong.

Yang Xuesong, a 54-year-old Chinese American at the University of Illinois at Springfield, worked as an admissions consultant and student advisor and was responsible for the enrollment of Chinese students. He also participated in the school's international exchange program.
In August 2016, the 17-year-old victim arrived in Chicago, and Yang Xuesong was the person responsible for picking up the victim. On the way, Yang Xuesong frequently talked about sexual issues with this underage girls. Yang Xuesong slandered the victim with the excuse of “this is American culture” and made the girl drunk on her 17th birthday. In the case of the girl's unconsciousness, Yang Xuesong raped her twice and raped again on the sixth day after her birthday.

According to US media reports, the day after the second sexual assault, Yang Xuesong still sent a message to the girl and asked her if she wanted to go to the museum together. She did not reply. That night, the girl finally got the courage to tell her friends what happened before and reported to the police. The police conducted an investigation into Yang Xuesong, but Yang Xuesong refused to admit the violation in front of allegations.
However, while interrogating Yang Xuesong, the police conducted a search on his office. In addition to office supplies, the police also found a bed and some aphrodisiac. His name was written on the bottle and his body fluid was found in the room. Faced with this evidence, Yang Xuesong finally loosened his mouth and asked for a lawyer. In court, the defendant Yang Xuesong pleaded with the judge and repeatedly apologized, saying that his behavior was "a crime that could not be exported." His defense lawyer requested a probation for him on the grounds that Yang Xuesong did not have a criminal record and felt remorse and agreed to any release conditions.
The lawyer of the victim girl said: “The victim’s mood is still not calm.” She has not dared to return to school because she is afraid of Yang Xuesong’s revenge.

According to the report, the victim girl of the above-mentioned sexual assault case told the police when she was investigated that she was not the only victim. Yang Xuesong once threatened Chinese students that they could change their grades and send them back to the country. At the same time, Yang Xuesong also has the power to revoke the visas of students and their families, so the victim is afraid and does not dare to resist or report his crimes.
